I didn’t finish my list from yesterday, but I’m ok with it because I simply ran out of time.  I took way longer than I was thinking I would at Target, and was there for over an hour.  I had a buggy full of groceries and several treats.  Spent more than I wanted to as well, but I needed to get a lot of ingredients for some recipes & that always drags the price up.

I am getting swamped with recipes I want to try out!  My pink binder is almost full!  I need to point my recipe searches to more “side dishes” and “main course” as opposed to desserts — but desserts are my speciality & so gosh darn appealing!

I’m stopping at Publix tonight because I forgot to buy chicken.  Menu:  Baked chicken with corn casserole (don’t tell Shane that’s what it is because I’m going to try and pass it off as corn bread)

Don’t put it down — put it away

I just spent about an hour making up my Target shopping list & printing and cutting out coupons.  I wasn’t planning on doing such a large shopping, but there are a lot of good deals to be had.  I think I will skip stopping at Sam’s and just pick up some cheap garbage bags at Target.  Buying generic garbage bags/toilet paper/paper towels/paper plates, etc is definitely not something I normally do… but I like the Glad Force Flex bags and they’re much cheaper at Sam’s.

So this is my plan:

Tuesday – Work –> Target –> Publix –> HomePut groceries away, do all the dishes, clear off the countertops, and wipe down the counters and the dining table.  Then I’m going to make some brown sugar cookies.  *Yum!*

Wednesday – Work –> Cold Stone to use my free ice cream cert –> HomeClean the living room & vacuum the downstairs.  (And try to talk Shane into vacuuming the stairs)  Am I alone in hating vacuuming stairs?

Thursday – CLEAN OUR BEDROOM!  There are clothes everywhere and I don’t think it’s been vacuumed in 2 months.  Disgusting, right?

Friday – Clean all the bathrooms and tidy up the loft.

Saturday – Will’s birthday party and I’m picking up some tables.  I’ll have to see where they fit once I get ‘em home, but I’m planning on putting them in the loft.

Do you have any idea how proud I’ll be of myself if I stick to this plan?  My house will be spotless & I will be a very happy girl…

Are YOU living in CHAOS?

Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome?  No matter how many times I try to fly, I keep giving in to procrastination and laziness.  It’s tough admitting that you’re lazy!

So now starts take #237.  I’m going to Sam’s Club after work today because we’re out of garbage bags.  Then I’ll probably stop at Target because I was able to print the Dove coupon from my friend’s website  and I also need to pick up a new garbage can.

I don’t have much going on this week beyond waiting impatiently for my Twilight & New Moon dvds to be delivered.  Team Edward.  Yay.  I’m going to devise a little schedule for myself…

Happy Birthday

Ahh 27 years old lady.

I had a nice birthday yesterday.  Shane went out at like 2am to find my Yorkie card.  All the stores near our house were either closed or didn’t have it in stock, so he drove all the way to Fletcher Ave to get it for me.

He bought me all of the baking things that I wanted.  Finally have a rolling pin, cooling racks, and a springform pan… which I’m very excited to use.  Ooh and I forgot about the sifter!  He had a hard time finding the crank one I wanted, and ended up at Williams Sonoma (which he hates) for it.  The bottom line is that when you are sifting a lot of flour or other dry ingredients, the squeeze handle sifters really hurt your hands.  I guess I don’t have big sifter muscles.

I’m going to make chocolate chip cheesecake tonight :)

Yesterday was St Patrick’s Day, and I was completely unprepared!

I had planned to wear my same “Irish” shirt from last year.  Pulled it out of the closet and saw it was totally stained.  I’m not sure what happened to it, but there were huge black spots all over the front.  So I went to work wearing Shane’s “Keepin it Rural” shirt.

After work, I said to myself, “Wouldn’t it be festive to have corned beef for dinner?”  Ran into Publix and picked up the best looking one they had.  (I also picked up some assorted flowers because I needed to swing by the Z-hills cemetery this morning)

I was home by 6:30 even though I made an extra stop.  Put the groceries away, played with the dogs, realized corned beef takes 3 hours to cook.  “Hunnnnie – dinner won’t be until 10 tonight”  LOL

2 hours later – added some veggies.

1/2 hour after that – checked on it.  Still raw in the middle.

1/2 hour after THAT – finally done.

This was the most disgusting corned beef I’ve ever had.  I started slicing it up all pretty and couldn’t resist taking a bite for myself.  It was so bad that I spit it out in the garbage, and I never do that because ladies don’t spit!  It was like chewing on a big ball of fat.  When we examined it, it was like there were little fat balls throughout the entire thing.  *Gross!*

Daisy & Milly each enjoyed a few bites, but the rest went to the failed dinner bin.  Oh well, at least the dogs liked it.
